Summer time is quickly approaching and Cinnamon Tree is excited to announce that we will be celebrating our 30th year of Discovery Camp this summer! We will be looking forward to an extra special, fun-filled program with plenty of individual attention from experienced, enthusiastic teachers and counselors. Within this environment, returning campers quickly ease back into our program, ready to enjoy a summer with familiar friends and staff. New campers are warmly welcomed and quickly feel part of this group.

Cindy and Stacy will be leading our campers through a variety of events that are built around fun and exciting weekly themes! Our themes include age appropriate activities, special guests and scheduled trips away from the center.

Week 1~ Create a Masterpiece~ Paint? Clay? Papermache? Our campers will spend the week exploring different mediums as we begin the summer fun! Let's get this party started....bring your best dance moves on Wednesday, June 26th asDJ Eric kicks off the summer with a back yard dance party!

Week 2~ Party in the U.S.A~Wear your Red, White & Blue and get ready for an explosion of fun as we celebrate our great nation. Nothing says America more than a Backyard BBQ. John will grill up some hotdogs & hamburgers for lunch on Tuesday, July 2nd. The campers will enjoy their first swim trip to Red Wing on Wednesday, July 3rd.

 

                  

Week 3~ Fun Week~Calling all bikers: shine your spokes and get ready to hit the Cinnamon Tree track!Our first Bike Day will be on Monday, July 8th. No time to “spare”, the campers will be headed to Fishkill Bowl on Tuesday, July 9th. The Catskill Puppet Theatre will put on a show for us at Baird Park on Wednesday, July 10thand then the campers will enjoy an afternoon of games at the park. Thursday, July 11th we will swim at Red Wing.

 

 

Week 4 (Hopewell) ~ Clown School w/ Bee Bee~ Join us for a week of clowning fun as BeeBee the Clown teaches our campers the fine art of juggling, balloon twisting and the secrets of clown make up! This week will culminate as the campers perform a show of their own! Thursday, July 18th the campers will swim at Red Wing.

 

Week 4 (LaGrange) ~ Football/Cooking~They'll be no flag guarding this week! Our campers will run drills and learn the fundamentals of football . If football is not your thing, you can enter the neutral zone and get cooking. The campers will whip up a different kitchen concoction each day. Thursady, July18th the campers will swim at Freedom Park.

 

Week 5~ Sports of All Sorts~Calling all sports fans. Discovery camp will be hosting a whole week of your favorite sports. The campers will travel to The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk on Tuesday, July 23rd . Wednesday, July 24th the campers will be at Baird Park for a fun filled day of games. Thursday, July 25th the campers will swim at Red Wing.

Week 6~ Space Mission~3...2...1 Blast off! This week will be out of this world as the campers get ready to explore outer space.We will travel to the Hudson River Museum/Planetarium on Tuesday, July 30th for a hands on workshop and planetarium show. The campers will swim at Red Wing on Wednesday, July 31st.

 Week 8~ Fun Week~ Wear your sneakers and be ready to run. Kickball, tennis and jumprope are just a few of the activities we have planned for Field Day at Baird Park on Monday, August 12th. Tuesday, August 13th will be movie day at the Galleria and Wednesday, August 14th, the campers will be “rolling” back down to the alley to throw a few games. Thursday, August 15thwe will swim at Red Wing and Friday, August 16th the campers can bring their bikes and helmets as they practice their riding skills on our last bike day.

 Week 9~ Oldies Games~ Ah...the good ol days. When the whole neighborhood was outside running and playing games together. Kids could entertain themselves for hours. Join us as our Discovery Camp recreates those fun filled group games. We won't rely as much on props as we will on our immagination and energy!

Week 10~ Country Fair~ Step right up and join us at the Country Fair! The campers will organzie a country fair that will be held right here. They will design and build games, make fair food, do face painting and plan different activities to make their fair a success! Saying good bye to summer is always a bummer but DJ Eric will make it fun as we close out the summer with a dance party on Wednesday, August 28th.
